Hi English contributors!
Since not all of us are as fluent with German as the Germans on this
list, I'll try a rough translation of this important mail. I'll
include several BTWs which are interesting for the Germans as well.

(2) Ablauf: Der Konferenzablauf zeichnet sich langsam ab.
Folgende aktuelle Änderungen wird habe ich nun vollzogen:
- Zusammenfassung Holtgrewe/Krysmanski/Winzerling zum Workshop "Open
Source - und nun?" am Mo, 30.4., 10-14h.
- Martin Joey Schulze auf Sa, 12h

(2) Proceeding: The proceeding of the conference slowly becomes clear.
The following changes are done:

(3) An/Abreise: Jede/r Referent/in kümmert sich selbst um die
An/Abreise. Das Budget ermöglicht eine Erstattung der Fahrtkosten im
Normalfall mit Bahnfahrt 2. Klasse mit Bahncard bzw. für Anreisende
aus dem Ausland mit einem (möglichst billigen) Flug. Abweichungen
bitte mit dem Finanz-Maintainer Stefan Merten absprechen
(smerten oekonux.de). Die Kostenerstattung erfolgt nach der
Konferenz gegen Vorlage/Zusendung des Tickets. Bei Problemen mit
An/Abreise: projekt oekonux.de.
(3) Travel: Every contributor cares himself/herself for the travel to
and from the conference. The budget makes a restitution of the
costs for the travel possible. The normal case is 2nd class train
travel using BahnCard or for travels from outside Germany by a
flight (as cheap as possible), respectively. For deviations please
contact financial maintainer Stefan Merten
(smerten oekonux.de). The restitution of the travel costs
will take place after the conference. The ticket needs to be
given to us for a restitution. If problems arise with the travel,
contact projekt oekonux.de.
BTW: Since in an ICE you *need* a reservation in many cases, we'll pay
a reservation ticket as part of the train ticket.
BTW: With all but two of you meanwhile I have the data of your
traveling costs.
BTW: We have to give the restituted tickets to our sponsor ourselves,
so simple showing of the ticket is *not* sufficient. You must give
them to us.
BTW: Since we have to present a calculation to our sponsor, we'll need
the tickets to restitute as soon as possible after the conference but
latest at May, 20. You may send your tickets to Stefan Merten,
Konrad-Adenauer-Straße 86, 67663 Kaiserslautern. Please mention your
name in the letter.
(4) Unterbringung: Alle Refs werden in Privatquartieren in Dortmund
untergebracht. Präferenzen hinsichtlich Rauchen/Nichtrauchen werden
- sofern genannt - berücksichtigt. Hierfür ist Helmut Weiss
zuständig, Fragen, Probleme und Abweichungen von der allgemeinen
Unterbringungsform bitte an helmut free.de. Ihr erhaltet die
Quartiere (Adressen) beim Einchecken auf der Konferenz am Sa ab 11
Uhr. Wer bereits Freitag anreist, meldet sich bitte bei
helmut free.de.
(4) Accommodation: All contributors will get private accommodation in
Dortmund. Preferences concerning smoker / non-smoker will be taken
into account - as far as they are known. For this, Helmut Weiss is
responsible. For questions, problems, deviations from the common
accommodation please contact helmut free.de. You'll receive
the addresses for your accommodation as part of the check in at
the conference on Saturday starting at 11 o'clock. People wanting
to arrive on Friday already, please contact helmut free.de.
(5) Spontane Sessions: Wir haben mehrere Räume für spontane Treffen,
Workshops etc. vorbereitet. Wer gerne eine Session anbieten möchte,
holt sich im Konferenzbüro einen freien Raum und hängt die
Ankündigung auf der zentralen Konferenz-Infowand aus.
(5) Spontaneous sesssions: We prepared several rooms for spontaneous
meetings, workshops, etc. Someone wanting to make a session,
fetches a free room from the conference bureau and pins the
announcement to the central conference info wall.
(6) Technik: Zwei Vortrags-Hörsäle (ca. 80-100 Personen) verfügen
über Beamer und Webanschluß. Wer einen Beamer mit oder ohne
Webanschluß benötigt, teilt dies bitte projekt oekonux.de
mit. Wir wissen bisher von Thorsten Wöllert, Yann Guidon, Franz
Nahrada.
(6) Technics: Two rooms (about 80-100 persons) have a beamer and a
Internet connection. People needing a beamer or Internet
connection please say that to projekt oekonux.de. At the
moment we know of Thorsten Wöllert, Yann Guidon, Franz Nahrada.
Den Beamer könnt ihr mit Eurem eigenen mitgebrachten Laptop benutzen
oder einen vor Ort verfügbaren benutzen. ACHTUNG: Wer einen eigenen
Laptop für einen Zugriff auf das Web benutzen will, muss zwecks
Konfiguration mindestens eine Stunde vor dem Vortrag ins
Konferenzbüro kommen.
The beamer may be used with your own laptop or you may use one
which is available in the rooms. ATTENTION: People wanting to use
their own laptop for the connection to the Internet need to check
with the conference bureau at least one hour before their
presentation.
(7) Konferenzbüro: Im Konferenzbüro findet ihr hoffentlich immer wen
vom Org-Team, der/die weiterhelfen kann. Grundsätzlich gilt das
Prinzip: Selbstorganisation. Wer im Org-Team mitmachen möchte, ist
willkommen. Unter

(7) Conference bureau: In the conference bureau hopefully you'll
always find a person from the org team who can help. In principle
the motto is: self organization. If you want to help in the org
team you're welcome. Please register at

(8) Essen: Es gibt einen Stand mit Döner und einem vegetarischen
Gericht (vermutl. in der Cafeteria). Sonst liegen im Umfeld der FH
viele Kneipen, Imbisse etc. Eine Infomappe mit diesen Infos,
Stadtkarte und noch einiges mehr gibt's beim Einchecken. Samstag
abend findet in der Cafeteria eine Fete für alle statt.
(8) Food: There will be one stall where doner and a vegetarian meal
will be sold (presumably in the cafeteria). Apart from this in the
surrounding of the FH there are a number of bars, booths, etc. A
info folder with this information, map of the city, and more will
be handed to you during check in. Saturday evening there will be a
fete for all.
